Coaching with LaBonté Nutrition & Wellness

Transforming your relationship with food can lead to transformations in every aspect of your life.

Gerard LaBonté has made it his mission to create a better world by guiding and educating individuals on how to cultivate life's most nourishing relationships. Through conversations, Gerard and his clients work to transform the most crucial relationships in life. By learning how to nourish ourselves, we can nourish our lives in ways we may never have thought possible.

"In my earlier years, I grappled with the challenge of nourishing myself with whole foods. As a wrestler in high school and college, I experienced extreme anxiety, as my only means of shedding excess fat was to starve myself or increase my workout regimen. As I grew older, I grew weary of feeling undernourished and decided to neglect my health, unaware that it would lead to depression and a loss of identity, as I witnessed myself aging faster than desired.

When I finally stumbled upon quality resources (referenced below), I delved into them with a fervor for learning that I hadn't felt since childhood. I had tried nearly everything I could think of, with none of it yielding results, leaving me feeling helpless. So when I discovered the low-carb, whole food, keto, zone diet, and the whole food movement, my body responded with unparalleled excitement. This was different; this could work.

I devoured every piece of information, sharing it on my Instagram and with friends. Soon, I was asked to lead nutrition challenges at gyms, coach people in their weight loss journey, and even had the opportunity to cook for affluent and renowned individuals as a private chef on private jets.

As I delved into the nuances of the imbalances in hormones that result from attempts to make a carbohydrate-based diet work, I started to uncover another critical issue: inflammation. Around the same time as my deep dive into nutrition, I experienced the loss of my father due to a chronic disease and witnessed a close friend nearly lose their life to cancer.

It has been decades of my obsession with nutrition, and my heart aches every time I hear of someone struggling with any of the numerous modern chronic conditions, all of which are directly linked to inflammation. I delved into how food is produced, how it's prepared, and how nature equips it with chemicals to protect itself from being consumed by animals, including us.

Upon applying this knowledge to my own life, I began to feel remarkably younger. Understanding the benefits of a low-carb diet had already made me look younger, and now, I was also experiencing a newfound sense of vitality.

Around this time, I had the privilege of meeting a remarkable doctor who introduced me to yet another layer of this complex puzzle—the gut microbiome, a living ecosystem that exists within all of us. The metaphor that a system is more than the sum of its parts seems fitting here.

I started to explore the connection between the biome (bacterial life) of the soil, our gut biome, and the quality of our food."
